Can I cure my clutch slipping blues with a simple spring upgrade? I called redline and haven't heard back from him. The clutch looked fine when apart, so I'm guessing it's the extra hp.

There are a couple of things to look at before you jump to new springs, if you haven't already...
- type of oil
- plate thickness
- pressure plate orientation
- actuator adjustment
- scuff steel plates

And also a very common one is if the steels have been overheated they can warp and drastically reduce the mating face area, so check them for flatness too.

MRAXL.....Can you please elaborate on pressure plate orientation? Are you referring to the dot being lined up? just trying to expand my knowledge base a little...

That heavy of an oil in the transmission can cost some horsepower.

Not really an issue on the street though......

80 weight gear oil is not heavy.

I had a severe clutch slip problem over 5,000 rpm with my green 73 H2-A years ago (Leo knows which bike). I simply chucked the steel plates out, fitted seven H1 steel plates instead with an extra H2 friction plate and problem solved!
