After a 13 year lay off from historic racing I got the sidecar out of mothballs and had a skid about. My passenger Marty and I have not done a lap at the track since 2008 and not ridden the H2 since 2002. Thanks to King Bill for some late night reminders/advice after my 20 yr old special ign failed on the dyno (running in new pistons). Had to put a stock ign on it which hurt us out of the turns a fair bit. After 9 laps of practise(sucks really) we were in. Here is a link to a short video some one took during qualifying. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153580959136181 We had a good time over the five day event/festival and the bike was real good. Friday qualifying was hell hot with over 50deg C track temps at 10.30am and 36deg ambient temp. This meant I had trouble with detonation after two laps, so we were unable to qualify as well as we had hope/were capable of. If we had managed to get anothe .6 of a second off we would have been on the front row instead of row 3 ..... Still we were there. Pulled off a Aust #2 for the weekend on a bike which after flogging it all the time we were on track, did not miss a beat, all the way to just under 10k rpm in every gear all the time. Sidecar have a high duty cycle... In parc ferme (however the hell you spell that) after the last race, I just rode in and it sat there idling like a street bike. Highlight of the weekend was passing a guy on a TZ750 powered on the fastest section of the track with my bike spinning the tyre in top gear  :D yee hah. They had two classes combined, which actually sucks at times but does make it better for the crowd. The TZ was in the newer class. There is hundreds of shots of cool bikes at this link https://www.facebook.com/russelltoveyph ... 46/?type=3. Hope you find this interesting. Cheers Nev OH BTW we are #140

Not sure about the island. I swore I would never go there after the way we were treated in 2002 by the organisers. Foookers. Also it is 1200kms each way and costs about $60-$70 per LAP just to enter. Let alone travel, fuel etc. ..... I think I decided already. But yes I had a good time last week. This is a bit cheeky, but this is footage from behind us in practise, from the Period five winning TZ750 outfit, they were quicker than us but we took a bit of passing :-). https://www.facebook.com/peter.deangeli ... 746077558/

Nev,

It is great to see how your racing has mellowed over the years!

Would be excellent to see you again, if you can make the classic.
