4 of us are heading down again this year with our Dual Sport Bikes as well as our 2 strokes. We have found a lot of great dirt and gravel roads down there over the past few years. We have 2 KTM 990s, a KLR650 and a DR650 in our group so we stay on big bike friendly stuff. If anyone is looking to ride your Dual Sport while down there let me know and we can try and hook up with you. We take a few trips every year but The 2 Stroke Meet at DG is by far my favorite, see you guys in May!

The roads out of Cades Cove are fun. Rich Mountain Rd exits towards Townend, TN and Parsons Branch Rd exits on the Dragon.

Check out the Dirt Dragon as well.

Is there a map or an on line site that would show off road riding in the area? We have six guys bringing dual sports along with two strokes and plan on several rides during the week.
Where is the dirt dragon?

Go over to ADVRider and check out the East section, there is alot of info there. A programmable GPS like Zumo is a great tool to link stuff together and download from the site.

This website lists the Dirt Dragon as the Gravel Dragon.

I'm bringing a DT400, but I have converted it to street with BT45 tires. I think I could still handle the gravel Dragon, so I may be interested in some light off-road stuff.

I've led a group of beatermobile road rally cars on the Dirt (Gravel) Dragon and they all did fine. My only concern with those BT45s are any wet uphills that don't have enough rocks or stones to keep you in traction. Hopefully it will be dry during the meet.

I had my KE100 on Parsons Branch Rd with dual sport tires and fell over due to running out of traction on a wet uphill. Was praising the lightness of the bike that day.
