Does sound bad. Hopefully, this will pass. We could go back to a summer meet.

If necessary I'd vote for fall after school is back in session and the crowds have died down again. Just not when the leaves are falling.

Not good. From DGMR Facebook page:

As of today 3.23.20 our Store will remain open from 9a - 5p Sunday - Saturday and our Grill will be open 11a - 4p Thursday - Monday.

As of tomorrow 3.24.20 per the direction of Swain County officials we will be closing our motel for a unspecified amount of time. We have also been informed that officials will be meeting on a weekly basis to determine what restrictions, if any, will continue to be needed for the current COVID-19 situation.

We are contacting our guest as needed when or if this restriction affects their reservation(s).

Lets see what happens as each day goes by and hopefully we will hear some good news. We can also meet in the late summer or whenever you all agree on a good time (weather permitting)

FYI... I still have a key to the kitchen, which also includes the oven to make pizzas, the tap which disperses beer and the bathroom. You'll need to bring your own toilet paper...

Stay safe you guys, will sure miss you all or should I say Y'all......oh yeah Roll tide or should I say "Roll of toilet paper"...

I spoke to Jud (general manager) today via phone. As of now, they plan to be open for our meet as planned. We will stay in close contact and any new developments will be communicated. At this time, we still have the entire motel for the whole week.

Chris

The last thing I want to do is put a damper on our plans, but I watched an interesting video earlier today, and I get the feeling that things aren't going to be any better in a month.

we cancelled the reservations at the house today, so me and the Charlotte/Rock Hill guys are out this year unless something drastically changes, then i -may- solo up there for a day or 2. But thats doubtful.

Still working though, not much else has changed for me aside from trying to find bananas and coffee creamer at the groc store.

It's a bummer alright Mark, but thinking about something like a 2-week meet next year could keep my spirits up. :)

Jim, Pretty good explanation of the disease process.
