Never seen a steel fork H1-B (C) over here! Can't get more original than that, but those tyres look a bit scary!!

H1C's were very rare here, never offered by dealers. Most came here from military that bought overseas, and brought them back home. I've never seen an H1C that had aluminum forks and disk front brake, all I've ever seen of them were steel fork, drum brake/ .

I thought the introduction of alloy forks was a turning point for Kawasaki in the triples story, as much as disc-brakes were. There was a dramatic difference if you jumped off of an early H1 onto an early H2! (I love early H1's!) (Just drinkin' wine and reminiscing here! :D ).

This is so true. I have received no less than 10 emails from people telling me the bike is not original because it should have a disc brake and orange fenders.... ha!
8-)

I think you will find that the H1c was ONLY sold here in the U.S. - U.S. dealers were told to offer the Two options for 1972 Models - when I get back to the U.K. I will scan the dealer sales options for you

Thanks Rick that would be awesome. I wish there was time to post a pic of your brochure in my auction to ease the confusion. Too late now though; bike will be sold in less than 24 hours!

I don't remember any being sold here in 1972, only the H1B. I do know that a LOT of service personnel came back from their overseas duty with them. there were at least 7 at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, California, over a 9 year time span, and NONE of them came from the U.S. I worked on all of those 7 over the years I had my shop in Merced. .
