I acquired an H2 engine a couple weeks ago, and it is for sale. First the not so good: the engine is not complete, it is missing the transmission shafts and gears, clutch, stator, and sidecovers. It does includes the shift drum and shift forks (that look pretty good). The good news: engine number 04522. It looks like the top end has not been disturbed, I can turn it over by the ignition rotor and it feel normal. Pistons look good through the ports. This should be in the range for the high, square cut out cylinders. This had been sitting for 20+ years, I think the guy used it for the transmission for his other H2. Cylinder fins are all nice, cases look good too. PM me for pictures. |

You better verify the square cutouts before someone buys it thinking they are and gets upset when they are not. |

Ok, then throw me a bone here, what do you think is a fair, price for something like this? When you see a complete engine for sale, it is usually an unknown quantity, like this one, and it seems like these go for $2500 or more. I may pull one cylinder to verify the cylinder just to be safe. |

FWIW, I believe the high cut out cylinders stopped around engine 4400 (or maybe it was frame 4400) but either way...it is definitely worth confirming. In my opinion, the $1500 asking price is more like an eBay price - but someone would definitely pay that for it. |

Actually the high cuts are the least desirable, As they crack liners on the bigger overbores. |

I pulled the right cylinder off today, it is the high, square cut (my #6376 has the tapered cut for comparison), and 71mm bore. |
