I received this part from this seller and it had 3 pieces missing. Those pieces are not seen in this pic and I believe that is deliberate. The seller refuses to make it right and will not refund my money. I have had to escalate the case with Paypal. He has called ma a liar and says that this pic was enough to see what I was buying.

The parts missing are the outer sleeve, the wiring harness and the rubber trim ring. He says he will send mew the trim ring and h"will try to locate" the outer sleeve but he "can't help me" with the harness. I agreed to the sale but "assumed" that I was getting a complete tach based on the OEM part number.

He will not listen to any of my reasoning and infact says that my last message was "rubbish", essentially calling me a liar.
He has told me to resell it, but it is a incomplete part and will not bring near what I paid for it.

What do you guys think?

If the parts aren't in the picture, I would not expect to receive them. Generally, I would expect to get only what I see...in this case I can't see the picture at all.

looking at the picture, I think you got what was advertised. The harness and the outer sleeve wouldn't come with a new tach

The outer sleeve, the wiring harness and the rubber trim ring are not a part of the meter. They were not included as a part of the OE number. They were sold separately.

Two things come to mind.

1.) I agree with the others that you were not shown those other parts or promised them before you paid right?
They are seperate items costing good money.

2.) Do you really feel the open forum is a place to air this issue?
Naming the seller in a public place would not be my 1st choice.

No offense, just MHfO

+1 on part(s) clearly shown in any pictures, same goes for ebay or craigs as well, regardless of whether or not a specific PN shows other parts included in any parts diagram. ALWAYS, when in doubt, ask for particulars and details BEFORE paying for something. Hey, I've BIN'd things on ebay before and then realized it didn't include some minor part associated with it. It happens...

Personally, I'd email the seller/member back and say, "my mistake in judgment - I should have asked and not assumed".

Never expect parts that aren't shown, and ask questions if you have them..........

Guys,I was the seller.
I have taken so much verbal crap from this person it is un beleivable.
The item forsale was in perfect condition, everything I had he got.
Offer was based on the pic I put up.
He never asked for any additional info or pics.

Price offered was $225.00 plus the postage.

The only stuff up I made was forgetting to send the top visor rubber as I took it out of the box when
I wrapped it up for postage and didnt put it back in.
I Sent a PM to this person to say I would send it no charge .
The first I had heard about this was from paypal,no e-mail came from this person first up.
I have been in the firing line ever since.

It has now escalted to Paypal inwhich I am now on a hiding to nothing.
He also sent me a pm to say he would slagged me as a liar and a thief on all the boards he frequents.
Isnt life great.

Steve.

As long as you're asking for parts not in the description or photo, demand the speedometer and bracket too.

Oooooohhhhh . . . I may not be popular here but, with a N.O.S. meter in the sealed box, you DO get :

1, Rubber visor.

2, Wiring loom.

3, Meter wrinkly cover

4, Chrome mounting nuts and washers

5, A nice plastic bag to keep it as new.

However, it was advertised as a N.O.S. meter and you saw what you were buying, if in doubt you should have asked where the missing parts were (if you were even expecting them in the first place) before you paid the money
