Which supplier sells gaskets that have the correct fit to place in the carburetor and seal the bowl properly? I've had a few that are too long (sudco) and end up folded on installation of the bowl. Is a slight swipe on the gasket, of RTV or the like, used to help a fuel tight seal? I've never seen any fuel come out of the overflow. When I use the side stand, slight leak at the bowls. Center stand, dry as a bone. Warped bowls possibly, but a nice fitting gasket is where I'd like to start my troubleshooting. I'm still trying to iron out my carburetor jetting and bowl removal/installation is an everyday event. Jess, Mid Atlantic, Z1, whoever. I know you guys have gone through this but I could not find any referrals for nice fitting gaskets. |

Ivan recommends lapping the bowls flat again and it cured my incontinent bowls. to make it easier is to use a plate with a 1 1/4" hole in it with some 400 wet n dry paper stuck to it. i got OEM gaskets from Ivan as well. ![]() |

I'm having the same leaking problems with my '73 H2A....! I've used sealer to stop them from leaking, but if there's a better way...?? |

He means putting a piece of fairly fine sandpaper on a flat surface and flattening the sealing surfaces. They can get warped, especially when the screws are tightened too much. EZ-Turn fuel resistant grease is a great sealer for bowl gaskets, if used sparingly. Aircraft Spruce stocks it. It's the stuff to use inside the petcock too. |

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Castrol-Red-R ... 0086766651 Will this do? Shipping cost for the EZ Lube from the USA is very high, so I did a google search for fuel resistant grease, and found the Castrol product in the link above.. |
