Hi does any body have a Master Cylinder for a twin disk brake for a KH500 for sale ? I am not sure if this different to H1's. Mine had the cylinder rusted in. I have been offered a Z100 one, but I belive it has the plastic tub. Happy to pay a good price fro a woking MC, but I do have a kit to fix one up, as long as its not rusted together.

Yeak I already have a twin set up for teh KH500, just not a workign right hand caliper (which inded are different to the H1's) I have an after market MC. it works but its too soft. The brakes are actually not too bad though, so i wont be changong too ex500 setups. I was tryign to keep the orginal look of the bike, if not exactly original.

I think the MC 's on reproduction look a bit plasticy. I could use one of a Z1000 if I wanted that.

I think on the KH the calipers are not "sided" and you can flip one by turning the mounting plate around. I wait to be corrected as this is a hazy memory.

I believe the kh at the time would have ran the plastic fluid holder like the kz's.. Lucky for you they sell alot cheaper then the earlier master.. last 5/8 kz style I sold went for maybe $150 the last correct 5/8 for the h1 h2 z1 sold for over $1100

i think the calipers are the same on both sides, but the mounting bracket has a shimmed off area on the other side. thats ok though cause i have one of those.

in regards to the mc. the one i have is metal, and came with the bike. i can only assume its original but maybe not. seems like if i want a metal one i should try repairing it by drilling out the old . i send a pic later

Just for reference, the single H series MC pistons were 14mm (about 9/16") and the duals were 16mm (about 5/8").

Thats most likely the orig.for single disc. In 1976 had you gone to a dealer for a 5/8" you most likely would have been sold m/c with plastic filler.

It looks original.
Your less expensive option to keep an original looking M/C would probably be to bore it to 16mm and install a 5/8 kit.
