One of my motor mount bolts snapped and broke! This is the second time it's happened on the H2C over the years. The bike runs well and vibration is not excessive. I found a replacement on e-bay for a low price including shipping. I messaged the seller for more information, he didn't answer and he mailed it the slow method - may take up to 2 weeks. Anybody have one or more of these bolts laying around? Cosmetics are not so important. Main things are the bolt is in good condition structurally, including the threads. I wouldn't mind buying a few of them. My '73 H2 project bike is missing a motor mount bolt. This bolt measures 274mm in length. Thank you, Mike |

Thanks - that's who I ordered the part from. According to tracking, the postman hasn't picked it up or he hasn't delivered it to the post office yet. The price is great - if this part is correct I may order others. However the long wait is not desired as I finally have the TM34's tuned properly (I think!) |

I sent a message to Jess at Jessbikes.com. I didn't see a reply, then a couple of days later I saw a message from Jess asking if I had received his earlier message. His first message had gone into my junk mail folder. Jess had two used motor mount bolts, confirmed they are the proper length and sold them to me for a great price. Keep Jess in mind for your parts needs. We have several vendors to choose from, Jess is one whom we can communicate with directly (rather than through customer service) and he knows his stuff. The first motor mount bolt purchased on e-bay arrived in today's mail and... it's the wrong part! The length is 235mm instead of 274mm. I informed the seller and await his reply. Good thing Jess had some for sale, should be here in a few days. |

Jess' bolts arrived in today's mail and they are the proper parts, of course. Time to get the H2 on the road. |

Just curious, which particular bolt, lower, or on the upper rear linked engine mount??? We never used to use the upper bolt into the engine on the race bikes, we would add a spacer to replicate the engine boss, and use the mount plates to hold a fairing bolt boss mount off the engine. Also, loo0k at the Resources site for a FDM bulletin on loading the chassis to the engine mount package, might need to have the frame shimmed to fit correctly. MANY H2 street frames took bolts and/or bosses out, by being distorted by engine bolts, and that sets up stress in the mounts and bolts. Shimming reduces the stress at the bolt to frame boss junctions. Even the rubber mounted engiens need to have the bolt stack shimmed on a lot of frames. Me, I would have chucked up a section of steel rod, and cut away the ends and made rolled threads for the nuts, but not everybody has the machinery to do that, or the ability. Between making a better, YOUNGER bolt, vs a half century old one, I would make my own. Any good machinist could do the same. |

That's what I did, had a machinist friend make me some. Easy, cheap, done. |
