Good morning folks,
To my surprise I found a previous owner has used a piece of all-thread rod for one of the long front motor mount bolts. In the pic it is the one with the red paint on the end. It is approx 11” end to end.

Thanks
Mark

A long bolt was not used. Two 8X45 bolts were used... one for each side.

This is the single long bolt that runs through the solid tube going across both frame rails, and motor mount plates. It would be 8mm, smaller than the 10mm bolt behind it running through the engine cases and frame. I pulled it out to measure. The two 8x45mm bolts are the lower bolts in the mounting plates. Unless my engine mount has been changed? My frame doesn’t look like the pic in that parts illustration. That would explain the all-thread rod.

The early bikes had the short bolts, and could (did) vibrate the lugs right off the frame....then they went to 2 tubes across the frame. Fairly early in H2 production, not sure exactly when. The single tube looks like a local fix.

Looks like I’ll need a bolt off something else, probably have to buy it by size. It’s only 8mm in diameter instead of the 10mm long bolts on the later bikes.
Thanks anyway guys

Mark

That’s gonna be close. I’ll have to pull it out and take a more accurate measurement.

At 270 long it is just a bit short. I could get a nut on it but there wouldn’t be room for flat or lock washers. It needs to be 275-280mm long.

It'll stretch...….only half joking! Not to be flippant, but if you can get a nut on, you will soon have options for ramp washers, etc!
