If I buff the cover I'll have to continue cleaning and buffing the rest of the bike lol. I'm going for the rat bike look

You should be able to still buff that up nicely - even deep, rough grooves can be polished out. I bought one of the repop ones (mine cracked) and it was pretty thin and flimsy. I cleaned up a pretty rough ignition cover (road rash) ..it took some heavy sanding, but came back close to new. |
