I need a NOS clutch cover for a '73 H2A(or a very nice original with no scratches), if anyone has one stashed and will part with it, I need one. I know it will be expensive, but you pay for what you can get.

I don't think there's a difference in any H2 covers? Anyone?

Yep pricey --- I'll be watching - let me know what ya score.

Ah, the later ones had 'oil 1.4L' embossed near the filler, and 'kick-starter' near the.......... (yeah!)

There is a difference Barry.. I think there may actually be 3 different H2 covers in all, although all 3 are interchangeable with each other.

I know that the early covers ('72/'73) do not have the "capacity" cast next to the filler.

and I'm not sure (RB???), but I don't believe the the words "Kickstarter" were on the early ones either?

there're 3 typs, first without anything, then H2B with kickstarter on it, then later H2B and H2C with kickstarter and 1.4 liter on it (am afraid my H2A has got actually a H2B one  :shh: )

I have 3, 2 are scraped on the bottom of the clutch protrusion, cracked thru, and 1 has broken oil pump cover damage to a screw boss........... J.P - could you scrape the clutch cover while racing, can't remember doing that, but I have some "chamfered" brake pedals.......? (How could we race these things in the '70's and then have to be "told" where the Kick-starter is....??!!

I'm getting to the end of the restoration and the clutch cover is that last piece that needs replacing. I've got two covers but they are both scratched up. I might try some of that aluminum stuff that you melt into the scratches and see how it works.

You can take out some fairly bad scratches with sandpaper.... like finishing bondo.... heavy then lighter followed with polish.

I believe there are guys on the board that can refinish them for you - Brian H comes to mind. A properly buffed cover can look as good as NOS. And like Dale says, you can erase some pretty deep scars.
