Demand will probably be low on 69-71 H2 parts.

mraxl. I'm just gathering up a list for them. They will make the call on what they have tooled or not. I remember hearing Taner say he would have to sell like 6000 of their Z1 tank and body kits for it to be profitable. With several color combos offered and more demand on those models than our triples, he did tool those up. If we get a few decent parts out of it, all the better. I just hope they come up with a good carb bowl gasket set. One size fits all no?. That has to be a worthwhile tooling, as long as the right material is used. (rubber per your suggestion)

Thanks to 12dot, I now get the humor in low demand of the 69-71 H2 parts. Thanks for the heads up men. :banghead

Restoring an S2 here. Probably will do another when finished, and another, and....
I know it's a lot to ask, but would love to see these items available:

Left & right hand mirrors.
Ignition switch.
Wiring harness.
Brake & clutch perch.
Red & amber reflectors.
Handlebars.
Mikuni Needles and all the other stuff for 24 mm Mikunis.
Inner fork tubes.
Instrument housings.
Seat foam.
Plastic head light bucket.
Oil lines.
Side covers.
Under tank foam pads.
Gear pedal.
Brake pedal.
Linkage for gear pedal.
Linkage for front brake.
Headlight chrome ring.
Rear sprocket.
Shift forks.
#4 and #7 bolts in various sizes.
Complete decal sets - tank, covers, tail and warning decals.
Complete bearing sets for engine - and one for the swing arm/wheels.

Oh, yes - and a set of exhausts..

I have spent 148.000 NOK on this one now - approx.18.300 USD. Engine is all NOS - except for cylinders and cases.
Alot of the cost is shipping around the world - bit by bit by bit.... It adds up.. :(

Body wise, the S2 has a lot in common with the H2, so a lot of those parts are available, after-market; mirrors, side-covers, seat foam, base, (just a minor difference), etc. On the other hand, Mikuni & S2 specific stuff is more difficult!

I didn't spend all that money, just to give up now... Want it at least to look like original.
I've tried a lot of places, but usually end up with parts that are nowhere near to S2....scroll down:

Oil injection lines for all models (very similar tooling and parts)
Plastic side covers for all S series (make them strong)
COMPLETE set of H2 engine covers (oil pump, clutch, stator, ignition, & sprocket)
---same thing for Z1 & KZ. Why is the set not complete???
Complete Oil seal & O-ring kits like Kynvold offers.
Neoprene float bowl gaskets for all carbs

Dreaming: Engine parts - cylinders, heads, transmissions

[quote][/Colored anodizing, including black, is almost always clear anodizing that has been dyed with an organic dye. Organic dyes fade in sunlight, and black often goes through the purple color you have seen, before ending up a weak grey if left out long enough. There are anodizing processes that make the aluminum oxide layer have the desired color, but they are less common and more expensive.quote]

Interesting. I had to talk to the owner of the plating shop to get them to anodize my MC black correctly. The first time they did it, the finish was easily damaged by brake fluid. Almost like they clear coated it with lacquer or something. So I took it back and he did it a different way so that brake fluid does not eat the finish. Looks good and still black for now!

On the 74 H2, seems the headlight ears, decent seat, and side covers have a calling.
