Just curious but does anyone out there know what serial numbers or number range were used for the cr90 ? I hear something like only 3 are left?

Thanks again!

The only person that would know about actual serial numbers would be Tony N. And he has a funny story about those serial numbers as well. (Cooked the books to meet homologation, starting the numbers higher than they actually were :shh: :shh: :shh: )

as for 3 left?? more like "3 ever built"...

They are a unicorn. They almost don't even exist. Jim Hinshaw in Georgia may have the only real one left.

I have done quite a bit of digging on them (I am nearing the end of a CR90 replica build right now), and have found photos of what look to be 3 different bikes. The big bike cover bike and Tony N's drag bike look to be the same bike, Jim H's, and a single pic taken in the midwest (ohio?) at a dragstrip of a lowly CR90.

Unicorn.

Probably why they were painted white.

Has Jim posted his serial number of his bike? Just curious.

I have/have had a few Denco engines.

The Denco stamping looks correct to me, I have seen it on the top of the cylinders and bottom of the heads.

The FP XXXX stamp comes from Flo Power, I have seen direct Denco copies from them, perhaps given the mix of parts they were ported by Denco and later modified by Flo Power

For the big engines, 136-149 the top case ia also stamped, but for the CR90 and CR120, which were only top end kits, just the top ends. Could be a CR120 King Cobra.

I once saw and missed a different CR90, this was a gold H2A, low mileage, Denco kit and a crude "CR90" on the side panel. This was in the mid 90's

Hey Dave, im not familiar with flo power? What did they mainly do? Also have you seen any numbers stamped on the cases along with the headstock other than the factory stamps?
Thanks again!

While I can't speak to headstock stampings, I can comment on Flo Power.....

After Denco closed its doors, Rusty Jones continued doing portwork in his garage under the name "Flo Power". I've had a couple of Flo Power bikes/cylinder sets and they are absolutely identical to Denco "Cobra, King Cobra, etc" portwork.

Rusty was the "main" porting guy at Denco. If memory serves, Tony told me that when they originally hired Rusty, he didn't know jack-squat about portwork. Obviously by the end, he was putting out VERY nice work, as anyone that has authentic denco ported cylinders can attest to the quality of the workmanship.
