Well I did find the seal all at an Advance Auto store about 2 miles from my current location. At lunch, I'm going to ride up and get me a tube for a try before soldering more on these old floats. :D

Mike, I sent you a PM about what you have. the engine may be salty to ship but who knows. Hit me back and lets talk.

Got this dented NOS float in a pkg off ebay awhile back. Haven't submerged/tested, but I believe it'll work fine. If your sealing doesn't pan out and you want it, $15 shipped.

Seal all is in the truck so hopefully it will go well tonight. Kawi3cyl, I may take that dented one off of you just to have another decent spare. Dented or not, it if holds the gas out, we're good. Will hit you back soon and let you know for sure. Thanks. Just trying to save the bike riding season, or what's left of it. About the end of October through Thankgiving about sews it up for me for the year. ;)

Does the dent effect anything?

I've thrown them away with smaller dents than that??? :?

It shouldn't affect anything other than fatiquing the metal if it's folded too hard. Vibration from the engine may accelerate a crack at the location but for $15, I can't go wrong and I have seal all if it decides to leak there some day. I can tell fome the solder joints that it's better quality than the few I do have. It might also pressurize that side a bit more, since the same volume of air takes less space, but it's on the small can and the little bit of air that's in them, i doubt any real PSI is built up from the dent that would affect fuel level. Even if it did change the fuel level setting from a perfect float, these mikunis can be off a bit and still run fine. I use a bowl with a nipple/hose to do fuel level settings.

Now if half the can was crushed in, that would be a different story.
