I removed an old liner and began to clean up the rust inside.. then my tank started leaking around all the seams... not really worth the effort to fix it if I can source another tank in better shape.

It was the last step to being road-ready too :-/

I am new to the kawi 2stroke scene and don't know if other bike models had the same tank shape that will fit. Am interested in anything in fair shape that will fit without modding. Prefer buying in continental US for shipping rates.

Thanks guys!

You may be able to use a tank sealer and save the tank.
S1B/C & KH400/250 tanks are the same except KH tanks have different caps that are not interchangeable.

I appreciate the info! The tank sides separated from the seams completely. I could fold the sides up from the bottom. I could have it welded I suppose, but since I don't weld, it would be more cost-efficient to buy another tank.

I had 2 in my watch list on ebay, but would prefer picking one up from someone on the forum. I've learned the communities are more honest than random ebay users trying to make a buck.

Thanks though!

Well.... The ebay tank was a bust. Apparently Straight and dent free means one entire side slathered in bondo and 1/4 of the other one accompanied by holes in the tank from where it appears to have been peppered by shotgun BBs or something.

Sooo... back in the market for a tank. If anyone has anything that is worth working with, please let me know.
