Barry, thanks. And thanks for all the advice along the way.

Update on installation of Higgs Pipes:

I took the spigots off again and cut 1/2" off the length of the stub that slides into the header tube. That allowed the pipes to get much closer to the rear mount location. With a small push I can bolt them up without the 1" links and the fit is better all around. I did not try to move the engine by increasing bolting hole clearances on engine mounts. I think it is still a viable option.

In the present position, the side stand still touches the LH pipe. I did two things there. First, I dimpled the pipe to clear the leg (whatever you call the main part of the side stand) underneath the pipe. Second, I put a rubber sleeve on the peg that you push with your foot so that it won't rub through the pipe. It appears that I could have put a shim, like a washer, in the pivot area where the side stand normally stops. This would stop the side stand a little bit lower and avoid the contact with the pipe. I may do it anyway for some added clearance.

Now, I can not drag the side stand no matter how much I lean it.

Reading this thread is a disappointment, 900 dollars is a lot of cash to spend and have these issues and those welds :o , Higgs pipes off the wants list :(

We just got the first sets of H1 pipes into stock from Jim Lomas (both sets have already been purchased) and the welds are superb - especially the stainless.

Have a a look at the pictures here: http://tinyurl.com/bl9rfsx

I've really enjoyed selling his pipes so far because the quality is so good. Now I've just got to get enough inventory to put some on my own triples. :D
