I found these on Amazon that are a perfect fit at the rear tubing of my KH500 frame. My approximate ID measurements are 23.44mm/.923". These come in a qty of 8 for $8.45, free shipping! These have a slight texture on the very end, and are a snug fit, so you will need a small rubber or plastic ended hammer to tap these in. Once they're in, they're IN.

For a more permanent plug, I use cup type flat or convex steel soft plugs for cars, either interference fit, or welded in place.

Yes, old type non flanged freeze plugs, NAPA used to carry them. I've welded them onto clip on bar ends and many other things.
