Newbie to this site but have been reading lots of info and looking at parts. Just bought a 1975 Kawasaki triple H1 which is in good original condition. One problem is that my seat pan has rusted out which I read is a common problem with these bikes. Have to have the pan rebuilt or buy a new/used seat pan. I really want to keep the looks of the seat as I think it makes the bike.

I plan on taking the seat off this winter to have it repaired/replaced.

My questions:
Can you buy a reproduction seat pan for these bikes and if so where to purchase?
Who can I get to repair the pan and rebuild the seat back to original condition? Would not mind sending it somewhere this winter for this upgrade.

Thanks for any help.

Here is a complete seat:

They also have repair material including:

This is not a recommendation but a source... there may be others that are less expensive.

Thanks for the info. Hate to spend $500 on a seat but might have to. Will look around for a while.

Nahhh, hang in there, do you days of work on searching ebay and the forums man.
Find a decent pan to clean up. Maybe some minor repairs if need be.
Score a good foam and cover and you will have maybe 300 in to it.
May take a while, so if you're in a rush, by a 20 footer to use
until you get one you like made or bought.
Or fix it up.

but that's just me and that Scotch blood I have in my veins.

Well found a person who is rebuilding my seat pan so it will be all metal, bought a new seat cover, my foam is in decent shape. I am now looking for the "mole" plastic piece part part number 53044-004. Found 2 on Ebay one for $99 the other for $165. Have not found any reproduction ones so I need to look some more......... There has got to be something that is available that can go on the seat for the "mole". If anyone has some suggestions let me know.

Auto parts store or Walmart and get some door edge protective stripping.
Same shape and size and once under the cover, who knows???

I have gotten the very small rubber tubing from the auto parts store and just slit them to make a mole.
