Anyone know of a shop who will do a good job on an original H2C seat? Pan and foam look pretty good, no rust; cover is also good except for a place on the side near the back end which has a hard rub. I would like to find someone pretty good who can bring this seat back and hopefully save the original cover.

Thanks in advance, Greg

I say do it yourself. I would not bother with the old cover. Has to be dry etc;. Is it worth more with the old cover?? Uhh. I would remove cover, pull foam which is when you gong to see how bad the pan is. Restore as needed. Just my thoughts.

My brother in-law did my seat (in leather) 16 years ago said the foam was in good shape so reuse it. He did upholstery for 30 years and said beware of other "seat foams" --- they're NOT all good. So in my case the original Kawi foam was reused and he's right - it's still perfect 43 years later.

Look for a local automotive upholsterer to you. Pictures of the product (before and after) can be taken to assist them. I have a lady that I've used for years who does good work.

Yep, I really want to keep it original. I was thinking maybe a shop similar to Cool Retro Bikes (link below with lots of interesting info). An Internet search, however, turns up lots of negative reports about them posted on various vintage motorcycle forums.

Would never use Cool retro bikes again. Very bad experience....

Cool Retro Bikes website outlines the kind of restoration work I am looking for but apparently he has a very poor reputation among many of those who have sent their seats to him. Danny was nice enough to sell me his near perfect H2C seat that is too nice to install a repro cover on. I need to be patient and wait till I find someone who can save the original.
