I just got mine! Look like new and the needles travel SO smooth now. Like Barry said, my pictures don't do them justice either. Thanks Don!
Oh, and heeding his advice to well dampened gauges, I replaced the handle bar and gauge cluster dampeners that are available.
My gauges still seemed loose in the housing after snugging up the acorn nuts, so I backed up the threaded stems with two rubber washers.
I went a step further and looked for the foam rubber dampers/gaskets that surrounds the gauge itself. Mine were shot. Bet yours are too.
A hard to find piece, not in re pop availability yet, I made mine from toilet bowl to tank gaskets. True. There are several sizes available at HD, but one is a perfect fit.
You have to trim away with a sharp razor, but the width and thickness is perfect and the sponginess feels just right.
Sorry to bring the toilet bowl thing to your thread............but Don, BEAUTIFUL work. Many Thanks again!!! I love them!!!
Unfortunately, I do not know the correct mileage, so I had Don set it to the year for a photo op.
