This H1A has been an ongoing project for a year. It doesn't look as good a Dave's '69 but I am pleased with it just the same. The post office delayed me for three months when they lost 2 crankshafts I sent to Porsche Dave, along with a new set of bearings and seals. The paint I shot was a Tri-stage Pearl hoping to somewhat simulate the KAWA-PSYCHEDELIC finish Kawasaki mentions in their brochure.

The first shots show the condition when I bought the bike.......pretty sorry looking actually. This bike also got the Doremi exhaust which I was very impressed with and Jim sold me a Lakeland CDI Box as the original CDI had retired.

Finally after a lot of money and many hours.....

Since these pictures were taken, I have logged some miles, mostly sorting the carbs and smiling ear to ear as it lifts the front end straight up in first.

The advertisers went way overboard on that brochure, didn't they. Spark plug life expectancy "5000" miles funny mine are always worn out in 1200 miles. "Perfect Handling" was also quoted, compared to what?

The front forks on my H1A only move slightly over rough potholes or railroad tracks, I used genuine Kawasaki seals but the stiction is ever present. Maybe Kawasaki didn't want the forks to bottom when you come down from a wheelie. lol: On the upside.........it's still a "Rush" to wack it through the gears.

The H1a is my favorite Triple, and yours is a beautiful example of one! Very nice work, it looks great. I hope you enjoy riding the fastest of the early 500s, as per Tony Nicosia. By far the highest top speed of any of the Triples, including the H2.

Great time of year to be completing a project. Great bike!
