Thanks guys
Some of us may recall that this bike was (is) an S2A that I "smallbored" just for the hell of it. I'm using the S2's 24mm Mikuni's because they're perfect, and I figured it couldn't hurt, plus the 22's I had needed major rebuilds and a throttle cable.
Jetting ended being remarkably easy. Using the stock airbox and the chambers, I ended up with 82.5 mains, 25 pilots, and needle clips are on 2-1/2(from top). This puts me exactally 3 sizes above stock S1 jetting. I 1st tried 87.5's mains and the bike was pretty much un-rideable-Pig Rich. Thats when I went to the 82.5's and dropped the needles from #3 to #2-1/2. I know for fact that I can go down 1 more main jet size and/or drop the needles farther, but I'd much prefer to play it safe+ it runs perfect as is. Oh yea, I did a top speed run with it also. The tach showed 8900rpm in top gear max. The speedo waves above 80 so it was useless. I found the speed/gearing/rpm calculator site and determined that with the stock 14t up front, a 46t out back, @8900rpm, it was going 93.8 mph. "Thats all there is and there aint No more !"
Cheers,
Dave
