The thought of taking 220 to that is terrifying so I may compromise and do a 300 or so... This is all HOK paint. When he painted the side tins and the rear cowl he used a standard primer sealer and nason clear with no problems; in fact the paint still looks fantastic. It was when he was painting the tank and dealing with the two colors and the graphics that things fell apart. He was told by House of Kolor that he had to use all HOK materials. So, $200 later he re-did it with HOK sealer and clear. It still wrinkled two weeks later. I think at that point he decided to retire from painting. It's too bad because he a great job on my Mustang and my GPz. Anyway, I am going to try to sand out the wrinkles and re-clear it. Thanks Everyone for your help. BTW, I am no painter... |

Jim, unfortunately, at this stage I would be concerned about film-build, how much material you have on that tank over-all. If the paint is remotely soft, you are just going to exacerbate the problem, a fresh start is the only fix. Hopefully, you can rub it back carefully, and get some more clear on it! (Whatever Moo says, do the opposite...!) |
