It's been a while since I updated my build. Here is the link to the old post when I first got started:
http://www.kawasakitriplesworldwide.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=58857&p=444045#p444045
I have made significant progress since.

The gauge faces have not been replaced but the housing was refinished and LEDs installed. The bars are superbike bars from Z1.
Image
Alot of time polishing starting with 320 and finishing with 2000 and a then buffing wheel.
Image
This is where I am today. The carbs are rebuilt, the petcock mounted, the wiring somewhat sorted out, seat recovered, new SS brake lines installed.
Image
Still to do. Knock the rust off the pipes, test the petcock and carbs for leaks, refill and bleed the brake, test the wiring, Refinish the airbox, etc, etc. I hope to get it started in the next week or two (if I can keep from getting distracted by the project KZ4Honey I picked up :) ).

Nice one Rookie, same model as mine. You have inspired me to polish the engine now, lot of work,( thanks a lot). Looking forward to the finished product. I`ll send some of mine when finished, but won`t be for a while, I want to get some riding in before I seriously strip down and finish. I am not a fan of our year`s colours although green is cool, I`ll go for h2 purple, bugger the originality.

You mentioned LED's. Did you install them in place of the stock indicator bulbs? If so, I'd like to know more about that. Where you sourced them, how they work, etc.

From Kawi3cyl:

I think the ones that are short enough to fit under your colored lenses are the 1-LED Wide Viewing Angle BA9s (90 and 120 degree Beam Patterns of 12VDC bulbs). You can their other bulbs for the gauges themselves, or just stick with oem.

They work well enough but if I did it again I would get the colored ones for the indicators.

Thats what I bought from superbrightleds Jim.
Ones that were the same color as the little jewels in the panel.
Amber gold ones for the gauge back lights as I went with custom silver metalflake faces Andre made me at repro decals.
A very nice Canadian fellow rebuilt the gauges for me.
;)

OH Yea, She's comming. Will be very nice indeed.

Makes me want to start an H1 build. What I have in mind will be costly. I would love to have a H1 with the modded work that Moo did to his H1. That bike is a beast. For now I am keeping up with what I have.
