That's a beautiful bike, congrats on a very tasteful custom. I had a stock silver '78 RD400 back 1984-ish time frame, funnest bike I ever owned. Is that a European tank on it? It looks larger than the stock American tank.

I have to first give credit where credit is due. I picked up the bike from David Hearn (DaveHinCA) . From the receipts and stuff it looks as though he has been working on it since about 2006 but didnt finish it.

I am not sure about the tank, but he definitely copied the Euro graphics motif.

The frame and wheels are powdercoated
all new bearings
brakes turned and drilled
new tires
custom paint by Porsche Dave
motor is new and stock except the daytona heads
dual stage reeds, boost bottle, Y-boot intake
Ron Chinoy 100W electrical system and coils
aluminum clipons
motocarrera rearsets
motocarrera GP pipes
fiberglass whale tail (unsure of manufacturer)
custom race-style aluminum gauge mount
integrated tail light/signals

I picked it up for $2200.00 a couple weeks ago
