I think we have sorted things (regarding the electrics) out now.

The fuse blew because of broken insulation on the cables in the rear wiring loom going to the tail light.

The charging didn't work due to a broken wire going from the rectifier.

Rode the bike today. When the engine is warmed up, it doesn't idle anymore. What could be the cause for this?

One possibility is carb idle adjustments (air screws) set too rich. Another is wrong float level or leaking float valves.

The petcock needs to be rebuilt because it leaks pretty badly. But gas drips on the floor so it seems the float valves are not sealing properly?
