After a few rides it seemed like the clutch was slipping in first gear. I backed off the clutch adjuster at the crankcase.

Today I started it up, rode to the stop sign and then the bike didn't want to shift into first gear. It's making clanking sounds inside. I talked to Moo and he recommends splitting the cases to look at the trans and forks.

When I put the motor together I checked the clearances and it seemed like they were okay. I used the best transmission parts I had out of a few sets.

The other day I opened up another of my hoarding boxes and found another transmission. Looks like I have enough transmission parts, if I can figure out what I'm doing.

This morning I called Fast by Gast and Paul answered the phone. He was very assuring that my trans will be fixed for about $300. He also recommends his H2 clutch kit for $160. The kit includes the plates and a ball bearing pusher.

I'd rather do the work myself but I don't have a good handle on working on the transmission, even with the triples resource site and youtube videos. I'm going to send him the trans and get it done right in one shot.

Plus, time is money and hopefully I'll get more "real" work done and make a few bucks to pay for this Kawi habit!

Do you have to send the whole bottom end inc cases or just the gear clusters.

thanks mark

Fast by Gast requests the gear clusters, shift drum and shift forks.
