There's a 1974 Ducati 750 GT Roundcase on craigslist . It's missing some parts and the guy wants 13,000. I don't have 13 large laying around but looking at the NADA guide, it claims a nice one is worth over 100 grand. :o Is that a misprint ??? If not , anyone wanna go halvers with me. ? What is so special about a round case anyway and what is the difference between the regular GTs.

I think it should be a 1974, I'm pretty sure the '75's were square case. There was only 401 of those made and the last one that sole at Bonhams brought $117,000. Interesting.

there is many differences between 750 GT, 750 sport and 750 SS Ducati.
The 750 GT and 750 sport from the 70s were only round cases, the 750 SS were round case then on 1975 and after (until 77)square cases.
The 750 SS round cases commands very high price cause only 410 were built on 2 years (73-74) ond they're production racing bikes with front and rear light. When they're on sales, they were very expensive and in my country they cost twice the price of the 750 sport
Cook Nelson's Ducati 900SS on which he won Daytona on 1976 was an overbored 750SS.

Very rare.

In
Europe a 750 GT in VGC is around 10.000 €, 750 Sport 12.000 €, a 750 SS don't really know but a real one (and not a fake) could go more than 60.000 €

.... 'cause us crusty old H2 guys on our evil handling H2's would round up these Ducatis like sheep, back in the day, (quotation marks). They were appallingly unreliable, the wheelbase was too long, they steered like a truck with flat tyres, etc., etc. :D Discuss!!! (mind you, couldn't do it now....!)

on french productions races on the later 70s (77 79), we fought with ours H2 against 900SS and Laverda 1000 w/o forget Guzzi 850 LM.
The winner was still the H2 even if on 79 the CB 900F with the racing kit was on the lead. :banghead
I learnt a few years ago that the only Ducati 900Sss who won some races (but not the championship) had a special illegal verlacchi frame better and lighter than the genuine one.
Have done an endurance race on a (real standart) 900ss; strange xperience for an H2 racer: should say the brembo brakes were better and when we refueled one time H2 boys had done two refueling and already used half of the tank.
But by far, H2 handling and acceleration were better :e11

Here's the link to the add. To my untrained Ducati eye, it doesn't look very special.

as you wrote before it's a GT and I think the NAda price is for a 750SS round case not for a GT.
In my country but don't know in USA such condition on a GT 750 commands 6.000 €
