I've ridden all the 80s production turbo bikes. This one can only be better.

The 80s bikes, while interesting, were uninspiring.

...except for the Kawasaki 750 turbo, surely!?

The Kaw 750 Turbo is a VERY fun bike. Yeah, the handling is soft and sorta sucks (by today's standards), but how can a bike that wheelies WHILE spinning the rear tire be "uninspiring"??? Might have had something to do with the 30 year old tires, but whatever.

While I agree that the "other" turbo's from that era pretty much sucked (and I've owned a CX500 Turbo), the Kaw 750 is in its own class.

That 30+ year old engine in a modern chassis would STILL hold it's own today.

Sounds like a beginner's bike. The Gixxer 600 makes 103 HP @ 359#, so the advantage of the twin is it will be easier to ride.

...and the KZ750 'Bo WAS different than the other three in that it wasn't meant to look like a space ship, styling exercise or novelty act, it was meant to kick ass. And it did.

I rode the same turbo 750 Cody did at RB's, it did have some nice get up and go, but I don't know if it was the old tires or something else, but it steered like a truck............

I agree... I didn't mind going quick in a straight line, but did NOT like how it felt going around any sort of corner at speed. My H1 is waaaay more confidence inspiring. And that is saying something.


probably a combination of original tires (30 years old), original shocks that probably leak, and more than likely the original fish oil in the forks.

I bet with everything tightened up a bit, it wouldn't be as crappy....

None of them handled especially well, especially the CX. Any liter bike of the day could shame them and were much easier to ride with a decent power curve. The Kawasaki was the only one that was sporting in any way, the rest were all sport tourers. Four strokes with two stroke power bands. It was neat when they got on the boost though.
