If you want an untraceable gun, just buy one from the BATF. If you want to make one the ability has been around since mills and lathes were born. You just had to know what to do.

You can finish those receivers with a wood router and a mill bit. Check youtube.

They used to cost about 25 bucks now they are about 80 bucks. I can buy a completed receiver for about 50 so I have no desire to make one. If they cost still 20 bucks I'd buy a bunch and a router.

Freedom. How does it work? ;)

Barry,
I read an article that a machine shop was selling this part as a replacement for worn receivers.
Looked like a very nice machined unit and there was a disclaimer that you couldn't use it to build a new gun but rather for repairs only.

The issue with the AR is about capacity
You can buy a 10 shot American made carbine for $350 - 450 that will kill just as well as the AR.
Available in 9mm, .40, and 45 caliber.
I can buy aftermarket clips that will hold 15 rounds in Virginia but not Maryland.
Agreed that the AR can hold anywhere from a few rounds up to 100.
