Very nicely blacked out indeed, as well as the choice to use the "hot rod" black as opposed to gloss. Are there any Guzzi dealers nearby Jim?

black V7 is underpowered; don't know in USA but for the price of this new in Europe you could have the real Mac Coy excepted perhaps a V7 sport teliao rosso.

Barry, do you know if they still use the "T-3" brake feed system (one front rotor from front master, one front, and, the rear rotor from the rear master)?

Some Gold Wings used that system as well.

Pretty bike, Barry. A Guzzi and black. :D

Dave, The V7 does not have linked brakes. My 1989 Mille GT does. I was planning to get rid of that system and make it "conventional" until I put a couple thousand miles on it and found that it words very well. The pedal feeds the left front disk and rear disk, and has a proportioning valve, sending more pressure to the front as you brake harder. Combined with the handlebar lever powered right front disk, it has plenty of brake, and I can stop with both wheels chirping pretty much automatically. It's nearly impossible to lock the rear wheel.

One advantage of linked brakes is that if anything in either system fails, you still have a front brake.

Rod, I may be mistaken, but I think you're seeing plastic trim more than a tank.

I like that linked system for bigger bikes. My neighbor had a Gold Wing 6 cylinder with it, and towed a camping trailer. I borrowed the whole mess and rode it over three thousand miles in three weeks or so one summer, and it worked extremely well.

The Mille GT isn't really a big bike, being in the low 500 lb range, but of course it's all relative. As you know, a new Gold Wing is not far from double that weight.

I thought it was a little funny a couple weeks ago when a neighbor who has spent quite a bit of time on her dirt bike, saw my Mille and said "Oh, you have a little street bike". I guess Harleys set the standard.

I'm sure he's referring to the white bike with a big notch in the tank for the cylinder to poke through...
