I have a 75 Z1 that Z1parts would like to build into one of these Hybrids. Any idea what suspension is on this bike?
I'm wondering if the swing arm is custom built?

Looks to be Ohlins all around. Possible was bought aftermarket. If it came off of a production bike I would say it is from the Europe area, the Japanese rarely used Ohlins and Brembo brakes. I think the newer Norton commandos used very similar suspension with the right side up Ohlins.

My guess there's about 10k in the suspension/wheels/brakes. Not going to be cheap to build a bike
to this level.

Definitely aftermarket swingarm. Check these websites amongst others:

Bulldock http://www.bulldock.jp/

Sanctuary http://www.ac-sanctuary.co.jp/

The Japanese spend crazy amounts of money on their classic Z's.

Cheaper alternative swingarms are Suzuki GS1100 and ZRX.

The GS1100 arm takes forked shocks (bottom mount) so you can't use the stock KZ shocks. I think you'll need longer shocks as well to get the ride height correct.

ZRX swingarms work well with ZRX shocks.

I have a GS1100 swingarm if you are interested. Not sure that I'll ever put it on one of my KZ's since I am now 2-stroke crazy.

Thanks for the links Mike, I have been to the Sanctuary site many times but never new about Bulldocks. Looks like
you can buy the parts direct and that's just what I was looking for. I've been wanting to build one of these since the
first time I saw the Sanctuary website.
