Hi ya'll
Just need a bit of advise please. I have my Ninja 250 which I'm going to paint from black to blue (like blue and prefer to be seen on the road better). The frame will remain black, but the tank, rims, fender, side panels, foot pegs. back will be painted blue. Now I know that when you are changing colour from a dark to a lighter colour that you would need more paint.
I've been told to get 4 pints of blue metallic paint, 2 pints of clear, along with the soft face additive, reducer, and hardener. Thing is, everyone I have spoken to has told me that 4 pints of paint is waaaaaaaaay too much, that can do a whole car. So in the end I got 1 pint of silver as the base, (don't ask, this is what the paint company told me to get to get the colour I want) 1 pint blue, 1 pint of clear, etc.
To be fair, its not going to have just one coat, it will be painted properly.
The bike will remain nekid, and I already bought the blue mirrors, handlebar and hand grips. Oh and the front of the bike will get a piece made covering the gauges and surrounding the headlight which will also be painted blue. So most of what is black will be painted blue.
So is 4 pints of paint and 2 pints of clear too much paint or is it enough?
