While riding backroads home from Pigeon Forge last week, I saw a Trimuter in someone's front lawn. I had no time to stop and check it out. Though I did not see a for sale sign, I'd say that by its position in the front near the highway, it probably was for sale. It was dirty and weathered looking, but appeared to be complete. I have never seen one before, but I remember seeing them in Mechanics Illustrated and other magazines as a teenager and thinking how I'd like to build one and put a motorcycle engine in it. The next time I get a chance, I will probably take a drive and check it out. For those who may not know what a Trimuter is, here is a link. They are really crap, but interesting from a nostalgia perpective. Todays version I guess will be the Elio powered by a 3-cylinder Geo Metro motor.
