I'm a great believer in the "kharma bank". I try to do little things to help others & I hope they will pass it along. If everyone did this the world would be a better place.

I am secretary of the Classic Italian Motorcycle Association Australia (CIMAA). It's a voluntary non-remunerative job & takes up a fair amount of my time. I'm happy to do it for purely selfish reasons. I have 4 bikes on cheap classic registration through the club & I want to make sure the club paperwork is spot-on. I did one guy a favor & when his boss cleaned out a shed I scored a pile of Honda 350/4 parts. I was very happy to get an oil pan in pretty good condition. I also scored a set of carburetors. I sent around half a dozen bits off to people in the USA for free. We're talking small parts that put the brakes on an entire restoration. Money in the kharma bank.

Anyhow, my wife's dad recently died. After selling his car my wife was given $500.00 by her mum. I wanted to make sure she didn't waste the money as she usually does (e.g. buying things for the kids!). I suggested she buy a Dell laptop for herself. We put in some extra money & she got a nice touch screen model. She then decided she needed a set of headphones. She worked out she could get some for free by using her Flybuys points. Well, today she picked up a package from the CIMAA post office box (I have been very ill with a flu virus). Instead of continuing on to work she came back home as she was curious about what was in the package. I opened it up. It was a set of TDK headphones. A note from the club member said "I appreciate the work & effort that you put in so the headphones are for you/family". The pure coincidence of this blew us both away!

Wow. I love the kharma bank!

Cheers

Trevor
