This is true. Where I grew up the hills were so steep and long, when your ball rolled down the hill you just said "screw it"...

I have a 1978 model, with mag wheels, sitting out in the shop right now. I wonder of these miscreants would send me all the stock parts they took off, instead of throwing them away, just to get 'em outta their "shop".

How do you know they threw them away? Bet the did not and yes Engishman made it --- I've been a long standing THBC subscriber. They posted this on their facebook page.
