Importing a grey market bike into the US?

Post subject:  Importing a grey market bike into the US?
I'm still looking for a Suzuki RGV250, 1991-1995 VJ22. The few that have been for sale here in Ca. all had title issue's
stating they where 70's or early 80's bikes. Since I still plan on moving to Colorado soon I wonder if that state
is any easier to bring in a grey market bike? From what I can see, once a bike turns 25 years old it gets antique
status and makes it easier. That would make titling something like a RZV500 possible in some states. Really
don't want to wait 3 more years till a 91 is considered a antique. Anyone have any advice? Maybe it's time to
call the Colorado DMV? I see nice RGV250's for sale in Canada and the UK all the time and good prices too.
Won't be easy to import one but must be possible and legal in some states.

Really want one of this in my garage

I'll tell you Ron, the whole importing a bke thing weighed heavy on my mind when I drove 5+ hours to get the peacock grey H1 last weekend.
Fortunatly for me, the seller lived in a small village about 4 miles from the border and I think they knew him well there.
He gave me a receipt for 200 bucks written as "Parts bike only, as is) and they bought it at customs.
I know with guys from the Canadian triples board that have imported from the states, it was fairly painless.
They had to send all the paperwork, bill of sale, registration info etc., to the customs station where they were crossing with it.
In a couple of weeks, they were all set to go and sailed through.
Im pretty sure it works the same coming in from Canada too.
Why not contact US Customs and ask? Worth a shot.

PM Barry, it took him years t get his H2 titled in CO.
