I own an old Yamaha XS750 triple 4 striker, and it needs a crank, rods and top end, as usual for those disasters.

Word is, this new one has a Cross Plane crank, and is light years better than their old efforts. The XS had a 120 degree crank in it, so it did a full rotation of 3 firing pulses, then, another full rotation going through cycling of exhaust and fuel.

I checked out the Yamaha site and it's just another ugly looking bike to me. It may ride great but I could never own
something that I can't stand to look at. Ride a old triple Kawasaki to any bike hangout and they draw a crowd, that Yamaha
wouldn't get a second look. Of course the triple may not make it home but that's half the fun right. :D

414 pounds wet is impressive.
Couldn't find Hp or Torque numbers.

I don't think it's ugly.

The instruments should help Yamaha's profit margin but I suspect it's a way of providing for the latest craze of mounting GPS, Cameras, and cell phones.

The D-Mode stuff is really only good for an all weather/all terrain type rider.

Price is right....sorta.
