Post subject:  Finally getting time for the Cafe Racer build
A few years ago I bought a old 76 Honda 750 and made it into a Cafe Racer. It looked cool but made less power than
my H1 so I sent it packing after 6 months. Two years ago I bought a decent looking and running CB900F and decided
to build another Honda Cafe bike. Like the 750 it still weighs a ton but pulls like a freight train. My goal is to take
50lbs off the bike, make it look cool and have a comfortable seat. I bought and restored my 72 H2 and then finished
a 74H1 for my friend Mike.

Fast forward 2 years later and I finally have time to build the 900. Cut the back of the frame off and installed a hoop,
then moved all the electrics and battery under the seat. Installed rear sets from a FZR600, clip-ons and a decent
master cylinder. Cut up a old Corbin seat for the foam and made it rideable to see how it went. Happy with the
results I torn it down to the frame and just got it back from the powder coaters. Not sure what I'm going to do with the
tank yet, may have a aluminum GP tank custom made. Dam motor must weigh almost as much as a complete H2 :lol:

Rossa Corsa code 300 its Ferrari red. I worked for
Ferrari for many years and like that shade of red

hey lotus were did you get the CRs from and what size are they 31 or 33s ?.
does it run better than with the stock carbs like they all claim?.
do you plan to do the relay wire mod to the starter system to get improved spark?

I bought the carbs used a few years ago on ebay and they are CR33's. The stock carbs are diaphragm type and are crap.
The CR's are great carbs and so easy to jet and adjust. I re-wired the bike and used 4 gauge wire on the battery relocation
under the seat. All the electrics are now under the seat or tank. Bike pulls like a freight train and between the CR carbs
and Vance and Hines header must make just about 100hp at the crank. I took about 50lbs off the bike and it's a hoot
to ride. I put a Dyna ignition on a CB750 a few years ago and will do the same to this bike if I have any issues.

Got my paint today so should have it painted by the end of the week. Rode it last night for about 40 miles and didn't
have any problems other that I went to low with the gearing. Stock was 2.54 and I went to 3.00 :roll: I'm in fourth gear
by 35mph but it sure does pull hard. :thumbup:

did the rearsets take alot of mods to fit?
what is that crankcase breather?
i like the proportions of it :thumbup:

I spent most of the weekend working on the Honda and getting stuff painted. I finished the fender and seat. Have the tank
ready but waiting for the Por15 kit to arrive. Was suppose to be here Friday but no luck. If it shows up tomorrow I should
have it painted by Thursday. I am using Spray-Max primers, base and 2K clear coat, great stuff and so easy to use.
The clear flows so nice and is better than I can do with a spray gun. :o
