I did'nt see the extra booster engines mounted for heavy loads.. Though his nose was up like he had them onboard.. Hopefully was'nt pilot error..

Company specializes in military heavy cargo. Either it shifted or he was just nose high and stalled it. You can see where he winged over to try and get some speed but was just not to be that low.

Load shifted back on take-off, classic deep stall.

There was quite a bit about the crash last week right after it happened. I was on some pilot forum and someone there heard that
it was a cargo of tanks and they brook loose. Pretty scary to see a 747 stall. I wouldn't want to be the loadmaster that tied them down.

I guess in a plane when you stall, would be like on a bike when in a wheelie at the point of no return,, That sucks scary stuff :(

Depends on your altitude, the mechanical shape of the airplane and what the pilots do !!!! Being in the business, you can never judge an accident until they have the actual cause and reason for the crash, but I will tell you this. There is no way the 2 experienced pilots in the seat would intentionally let the nose(attitude) get that high after takeoff !!!!! The normal takeoff pitch for a 744 is 13 degrees for a flaps 20 takeoff(heavy) and 15 degrees for flaps 10 takeoff(light) !!!!! From looking at the video it looks like the A/C had a 60 degrees or more nose up pitch..... Not only that the 744 has a stall warning system that shakes the control yoke when you are approaching a stall........You have to believe from the video that the pilots were doing everything they could to get the nose down. The point to look at is why couldn't they get the nose down ????? Once they stalled at only 1500 ft,and the airplane started to roll there was very little chance they could recover even if everything on the A/C was working right and within the Center of Gravity .With a big jet like the 747-400 with a nose high unusual attitude upset (which pilots practice every 9 months in the simulators)the pilots are taught to keep the bank in,let the nose roll over and down through the horizon, release the back pressure on the controls(unload),then roll the wings level, then recover back toward the horizon !!!!! The main problem with unusual attitude upset is overloading the A/C with G's !!!! The only way to recover a aircraft in a stall (power on or power off) is to reduce the angle of attack,so the wings can start flying again,if not you will ride the A/C in a stall all the way to the ground. Most inexperienced pilots die in a stall spin accident close to the ground. The most common accident is a new pilot turning final to land, slow, nose high, cross controlled and when the aircraft stalls, they pull back instead of pushing forward !!! In that case even if the pilot does everything right to recover(by pushing the nose down) his chances are not good because he is so close to the ground !!!!! The 747-400 is a beautiful airplane and most pilots who fly them are very experienced !!!! It was really sad to see this crash, but once again, although you can speculate, you have to wait until the accident investigation to know the real reason. As sad as this is,the black boxes will give the investigators the information they need to find out what really happened !!!!

It obviously happen when I was at the Gap, and no one actually watches tv. I looked it up, and one thing that was reported, was they have to gain altitude quickly because of the chance of ground fire. So they might have been at max rotation which would put max loading on the cargo. It was horrible.
