I was looking at some track schedules and noticed the AHDRA conspicuously missing so I decided to look them up. Apparently thier two main sponsors pulled the plug. Motorcycle drag racing seems to have a problem sustaining organized sanctions. Local and not so local "grudge racing" seems to be doing well. I personally am not much of a fan of grudge racing but apparently a lot of people are. I was at Dunn Bensons all motorcycle drag race last weekend and saw at least 4 or 5 Harleys racing. Very uncommon for motorcycle drag racing open to all makes, guess I know why now. Maybe it will help the other organizations be more sustainable. I am exited about Manufacturers Cup Motorcycle Drag Racing coming to Virginia for a race in June (20th-23rd). They have 11 different classes, including the pro categories and top fuel. |

I heard about the all Harley drags as well, my painter buddy races a VRod, and another buddy owns MRE. I went to last years Manufacturers Cup finals in Valdosta, GA. Cool stuff!! I know what you mean about the grudge races. Man there was a lot of side betting going on for that... |
