Well then here you go JA !!! Took this picture last night while flying from Nagoya Japan to Detroit. That is Mount Fuji in the background !!! I didn't have my good camera with me,so I took it the picture with my I phone. That is the number 4 engine of the 747-400 that you are seeing on the wing !!! Depending on the weather, sometimes we fly right over Fuji !!!! This time we were a good ways away, and started out over the ocean tracks North of Tokyo which is rare !!!!

1974 Flying to Europe, Boarded a 747 at night, never flown on one before. Woke up as the sun was rising, a bit startled watching the wing "flap"...lol. I had no idea the wings flexed that much.

Not near as exciting as the flight into Russia, on a 50's/60's Russian jet liner. Flames shooting out the engines, and rolling (what looked like) into the grass at the end of the runway before we got off the ground. And the cords hanging out of the tires, as I looked back, disembarking. :o :o :o The cool thing was seeing the 2 Presidential jets at the airport, Nixon was there too!

Absolutely beautiful photograph, Barry. If you happen to have a higher resolution one, I'd love to get it by email. One of the things in life that really amazes me is this:
Wikipedia wrote:
During testing, the first 747-400 built also set a world record for the heaviest airliner takeoff on June 27, 1988, on a flight to simulate heavy-weight stalls.[17] The flight had a takeoff weight of 892,450 pounds (404,810 kg)

I know it's not the highest take-off weight today, but over 7/8 of a million pounds is a whole bunch to hang on those two flapping wings.

Our Max takeoff weight is 875,000 and I have taken off many times at max gross weight !!!!!! Last night we were 863,000 lbs takeoff weight,Flaps 20,full power takeoff(some times we derate,or take off at a lower power setting ),11:36 minutes in route with 376 passengers !!!!! The 747-400 is a beautiful airplane.I am very lucky to be able to fly it !!!!! Still the 747-400 is nothing compared to JA's rolling jet in the beginning of this Post !!!!!!!
