I read and hear about this from time to time but I always hope that it is just a conversation. I ran across this CL advertisement the other day and was stunned by the picture of a Goodyear Aquatread looking tire on the rear of a sport bike.

Here is the entire CL ad if it is still up.

The seller admits to a crack in the frame by the steering head. God only knows what else is broken on this baby.

Oh yeah....car tires on bikes actually have some sort of weird following....groupies of a strange sort indeed. I forget what they call themselves but there are some web sites to support the nonsense.

This one was new to me so I looked it up. They call themselves Dark Siders

Bummer, non listed for the triples. I guess I'm forced to use actual motorcycle tires on my motorcycle.

The first time I saw this (and it was laughable) was at a drag race in Bowling Green Kentucky in '88. A large fella was racing a V-Max and had a 15 inch drag slick on the back. We were all kind of chuckling becouse he was doing these huge smokey burnouts and down the track the bike wouldnt get out of its own way. Dont remember what he was running but he was considerably slower then out stock and super stock bikes with regular motorcycle slicks. But he sure did have some rubber on the back!

The guys with car tires wreck frequently at Deals Gap. No tread on the road in a corner.
