Sometimes I wonder if something is not right.
When I "went to work" this morning, this struck me as one of those moments -
Take a look, does something here just not make sense to you as well?

 Dunno . . . but I sure as heck wouldn't be putting snow chains on my lovely alloys!

I found a little rod hanging loose on our 2000 Windstar. Advance Auto and AutoZone both lead me to the "help" selection, but neither had anything on hand. Ford, I've been doing some work with them, why not swing by. Cool, I showed the partsman what I had and needed, and he knew what it was. F5RZ9F955AB Bushings, he only has 2, $7.88 List price, my "cost" was only 5.91 each or 11.82 + .91 tax for a total of $12.73 or $6.36 each I "needed" four, so I decided to run into CarQuest. I showed them what I had, they cross referenced it to MTM 47099 Intake Vacuum Bushings but they did not have them on hand, I would have to buy they 5 at a time and they could have them first thing in the morning. $8.78 List price and my cost would be $5.49 - for all 5!  With tax, 5.91 total or $1.18 each So Ford was over 5 times more expensive, makes me wonder if that carries over to every part they try and sell. Is that like getting a 85% discount?  So I am sitting here are home, contemplating the IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control) repair, and I read that drywall screw inserts, cut to size, work great as well. I've got those - Great, I spent $18.64 that I did not have to spend, that darn google is sure worth every penny! I'm still Thankful for the experience though. Happy Thanksgiving |
