Picked this up for a short term romance. The brakes tho all disc and double in the front aren't so hot, the power is ok, the noise and thump thump is cool, it's really cool actually. My knees, always the bane of my existence long for less acute angles. It's at the long beach swap meet today searching for a new owner.

I actually quite like some of the Harleys..its the "baggage" that comes along with owning one that i could not get along with. This was mine. within its capabilities it was a fun bike.

You guys have some cool pics! I would love to try a decent carb on it. It has a vacuum leak around the butterfly shaft. This may contribute to the waaaaaah at wide open throttle. The blue pipes tell me it's likely lean. I about pooped my pants when I priced one of those s&s carbs. Oh well, I can't afford to keep/ repair them all but its sure fun to try.

Is an xr considered a sportster? Love those carbs sticking out.

Sportsters are cool - especially the old iron heads. I rode a stock 883 once and it was a hoot
