Eyeing a 83 kz750, sexy black with the orange/yellow graphics. Just wondering if a kz1000 motor is a direct bolt on? I know you old dogs know more than just triples so I figured I'd ask here instead of joining another forum.

I have had both, it would be a very tight fit, if not a no-fit. That model year wobbled badly at speed, I bought mine new in 83. Sold it 6 months later, I couldn't get the wobble fixed. I don't think that would be a good plan.

Must be a KZ750L model, they were pretty much a '82 KZ750R (GPZ) model, I have had two of them. Yup, they wobble at elevated speeds, on the first one I had, if you removed the fairing, it never wobbled. Great bikes, in stock form, faster than an early KZ1000.

Its in my garage, rode it to work today. It's too small for my frame to be a keeper. It is nice tho and is going to make some kawie guy or newbie Very happy.

I noticed the same issue on the Yamaha Seca 750 of the same year, maybe it was the fairing, all I know it was not confidence inspiring, to say the least.
