My pal told me about an old bike his dad had that might be for sale, his dad said it was worth 600 bucks. I didnt even bother to look. Fast forward His dad died of cancer and he called me so for 100 dollars I bought it for entertainment value. I read these are 100hp rides and mid 11's. We'll see if it will even run. It's been sitting. It has a fugly vetter fairing so we've been calling it "the purple rain bike". I'll post a pic later. |

Is it an E or an ES? If so, you grabbed a fun, fast bike. The base gaskets weep and the stator assembly is weak. Also, the side panels are usualy held on with zip ties. The original mounting tabs are poorly designed. Overall, a GREAT bike. (For a non Kawasaki)It'll leave any Kawi "Z" for dead. Also, the Purple Rain bike was a cheezy Honda 400 twin. ![]() |

Good bikes. They also were known to have a crankshaft issue, fixed in '83 I think with a welded crank. "G" model is the shafty, 1100 in 82 - 1000 prior All good bikes, the two and four valvers Here I am on my 80 in the eighties ![]() |

I have no title but know it's not stolen, I may just flip it, I have enough projects. Not without a burnout or two if itll run! |

The fairing is a windjammer. It's in the sideyard now. With a battery and a shot of gas the thing ran. So I have to clean the carbs now to really see what's going on. So much fun resurrecting old machinery. |

The only new bike I ever bought for myself was a 1980 GS 1100. If it still has the original clutch basket it will fail. I bought a billet clutch basket from APE after the original exploded. I pulled the clutch cover and raked out the pieces in a drain pan. Then I pulled the motor from the frame and cleaned out all the shrapnel. Mine is still running. I sold it to a friend in 1995. |

So I'm looking at the carb work and it's a daunting task. Yikes. Four strokes boo. |
