I blew up the clutch in my cts v but it took 45000 miles and a 100 shot of NOS. Perhaps he had the breaks on when he dumped the clutch in the yellow vette? That car is light, wonder what happened? Tires should of broke loose. |

Kinda sad, it goes with the wealthy old poser reputation corvettes have. Not saying it's right, it just is. I would drive a zo6 in a second. When I had the cash I bought a cts v thinking my son would be in a carseat slinging cheerios and spilling sippy cups for the rest of my life, so I bought the sedan. One back surgery later I couldn't swing the V payment and it was back to chevy pickup city Was fun while it lasted! Nothing compares to a LS2 and a six speed!

Nice; thanks for that My first thought was where is the water on the ground to protect the drive line while doing something stupid +1 on slipping the clutch; even with a heavy front / rear brake bias most cars don't have enough a$$ to fry good wide tires on dry concrete |

I keep watching the Vette burnout over and over. I just realized he knows so little about the car that he pulled the rear hatch release when he was trying to open the hood.

My understanding, from a Chevy forum I frequent when that chunk of video first came out, is that those yahoos work at a tire shop and the Vette was dropped off for new tires. They figured they'd burn off the old ones good before the new ones got put on and the owner would never know...oops... Those cars are remarkably smart. You can see right at the beginning the tires do start to spin. My guess is they didn't disable the ESP and the ABS took over and applied full rear brake when it sensed the wheel slip then once the clutch started slipping it was over. |
